Company Story
DP, formerly known as Dairypower, was originally set up by John O’Donovan in 1973 as a milking machine installation and servicing provider serving Co. Cork.
John was joined by his brothers Liam, Denis and Michael in the early 1980s and the business was rebranded as Dairypower, a name inspired by the fact the business was then installing milking machines produced by the Power family in Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Tipperary.
Through a mix of innovation in slurry management technology (starting with the Hydraulic Ratchet Scraper) and unrivalled customer aftercare, the company grew rapidly throughout the 1980s, 90s and 2000s to become Ireland’s runaway leader in the sector.
Today, the family-owned and run business spans three generations of the O’Donovan family, led by Managing Director Pat O’Donovan, John’s son. DP continues to grow steadily as a global brand, renowned as an innovation leader and manufacturer of the highest quality slurry management equipment on the market.
